THE UNEXPECTED

“Paper Man” was granted with the 2013 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.

A fantasy that speaks about the power of desire, chance and destiny or how a fortuitously impressed kiss on a sad administrative form can strengthen and give hope to those who want to re-find the woman they long for.

The eternal topic of fate, or chance encounter that opens the door to a life change. Whatever the outcome in the life time of these animated characters, it is still interesting (and often true) that a simple gust of wind, or something seemingly minor, uncontrolled, opens a door of possibilities which were unimaginable a few moments earlier.

And that’s life. We cannot imagine what will happen next. Perhaps this is one of the messages that I get from this short animation film: how sometimes the trivial, small, the uncontrollable, the gesture or unexpected blow, acts as a wick that can suddenly change the course of our lives.

It’s more entertainment than a metaphor, though and, in any case, it is up to everyone to make their own conclusion, so we can share here. I hope you like it.

Kisses and hugs,

Álex
